Unit 48- Mixing my own track

Mixed and Mastered Rather Be

Limiting: I limited my Tracks to prevent any back ground noises from being heard in my track and also to clean it up and make it easier to tell what instruments are coming in at what point

EQ- i used EQ on every track to increase the base levels and cut out any twangy sounds on the low frequencies. Here are a few examples of how i have EQ'd my tracks

Multiband Compressors:
The compression is the measurements of the sound waves, the narrower the sound waves the more dynamic the sounds are, when the dB in is the same as dB out then the sound overall will be equal.

The MultiBand compressor essentially is 4 compressors, with 4 frequency differences, this means that not only can you reduce the dynamics, but you can change the frequency levels for different sections such as the bass, highs and lows and the middle sections.

As you can see here i have increased the Bass and lowered the higher pitched sounds to make my piece deeper overall.

Effects:
i have included reverb on most of my instruments, i started with the vocals and then carried on through the rest of my tracks with the last instrument being the drums. To add the reverb i used RoomWorks SE. I used the Reverb to create a more real sound to the piece.

Formatting/Mixdown
Formatting- An audio file format is a file format for storing digital audio data on a computer system. The bit layout of the audio data is called the audio coding format and can be uncompressed, or compressed to reduce the file size, often using lossy compression.

Mixing down- Audio is the process of combining multitrack recordings into a single track and these tracks that are blended together are done by using various processes such as EQ, Compression and Reverb
